President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has acknowledged the mounting hardship caused by rising fuel prices, with assurances that measures are already in motion to cushion the impact on Nigerians.

The revelation was made by Umar Namadi during his Eid-el-Fitr address in Dutse, as conveyed in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Hamisu Muhammad Gumel.

Namadi said the President is concerned about the ripple effects of fuel price hikes on transportation and the overall cost of living, noting that the situation has placed significant strain on citizens.

“The President knows this is hard on Nigerians and has already started taking action, especially to make transport cheaper,” the governor said.

He explained that the Federal Government is prioritising interventions aimed at reducing transportation costs, which have risen sharply alongside fuel prices.

Namadi also disclosed that the Jigawa State Government would align with federal efforts by rolling out supportive policies and programmes to help residents cope with the economic pressure.
