An electrician, identified as Bright Okon, has died after falling from a ladder while carrying out maintenance work at a popular hotel in Umuahia, Abia State.

According to a report, the deceased fell off the ladder, hit his head on the ground and lost consciousness.
He was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre Umuahia where he was pronounced dead by the doctors on duty.
A witness account indicated that the man was first shocked by the live current before he lost balance and fell off the ladder.
The spokesman for the State Police Command, ASP Maureen Chinaka, confirmed the incident.
