Fire in the wee hours of Monday, gutted Geometric Power, the operator of Aba Power, Nigeria’s newest electricity distribution company (DisCo) in Abia State.

The affected structure, previously used by Group 5, a now-defunct South African electricity firm had been largely unused for over 12 years.
Moreover, while the actual cause of the fire remains unknown, Geometric Power staff were able to contain the inferno before the Abia State Fire Service arrived to fully extinguish it.
