Dubois knocks out Anthony Joshua

Daniel Dubois has just knocked out Anthony Joshua in brutal fashion to retain his International Boxing Federation (IBF) Heavyweight Belt.

Dubois stopped Joshua in the fifth round, having earlier dropped AJ in the first and second rounds.

Dubois’s aggressive approach from the opening bell set the tone for the fight, with Joshua struggling to mount a significant offense.

A looping right hand in the first round sent Joshua stumbling, and the champion continued to dictate the pace throughout.

This victory marks a significant statement for Dubois, who had been seeking to legitimize himself as a top heavyweight contender.

Following a loss to Oleksandr Usyk in 2023, Dubois has rebounded with impressive wins over Jarell Miller, Filip Hrgovic, and now Joshua.

“I need to retain it and hold on to it. I need to legitimize myself by winning this fight,” Dubois said pre-fight. “It’s a resurrection story of my career. I just want the biggest challenges and make a name for myself and create history.”

With this win, Dubois solidifies his position among the elite heavyweights, setting up potential matchups against Usyk and Tyson Fury.

The highly anticipated Usyk-Fury bout in December will undoubtedly draw Dubois’s attention.
