Moment Atiku Abubakar stormed election petition tribunal

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, was present at the presidential Election Petitions Tribunal.

The former Vice President was in court for the pre-hearing session of his petition against the President-elect, Bola Tinubu’s victory during February 25 presidential election.

Atiku had on May 8 filed an application for an order to allow the live coverage of the daily court proceedings on the case.

At the Court of Appeal Abuja, the venue for the tribunal sitting, Atiku was accompanied by a former Governor of Cross River State, Liyel Imoke; a former governor of Adamawa State, Bonny Haruna, a former Governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu, and former PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus, among other dignitaries. Also present at the pre-hearing was the party’s governorship candidate in Kogi State, Senator Dino Melaye.

  Meanwhile, the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has adjourned to Thursday, May 18, 2023, the continuation of the pre-hearing of the petition.

Listed as 1st to 3rd respondents in the petition are the Independent National Electoral Commission, Bola Tinubu, and the APC.

The pre-hearing in the petition was taken first on Thursday morning after counsel for Atiku and PDP, Chris Uche SAN indicated an interest in the matter.
