PEACELAND STUDENTS UNION GOVERNMENT VICE PRESIDENT CALLED FOR PARADIGM TO SHIFT
On Friday, 3rd of December 2021 was a special day for Peacelanders and other students across the tertiary institutions in Enugu Metropolis as the Students Union Government Vice president PCE called for PARADIGM TO SHIFT.
PARADIGM SHIFT maiden edition of the prestigious institution was organized by the 2021/ 2022 Students Union EXCOS.
The program which the sub theme *Optimizing womanhood calls for a reform, transformation, fundamental change in behavior and perception to get the women adequately equipped so that they would succeed once ventured in.
The convener of the program Comr. Akabueze Ethel Chinedu who is the SUG Vice President Peaceland College of Education Enugu in her speech, clamored for giving the girl child opportunity to hold top and strategic positions in different sectors, to facilitate a Progressive society , and as well close the glaring gaps of women non inclusion in National development as it were in other developed countries
Dignitaries from diversed government parastatals , philanthropists, girl child advocates and different NGOs graced the occasion to engage in a constructive conversation on how to transform the odd perception about women evolution and the significance of engaging the young women in policy making both in National, State and Locals.
Some of the eminent men that were present in the conference include
Provost Peaceland College of Education, Commissioner for Gender Affairs represented by Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Honorable SSA to the governor on Students affairs, Outstanding SA to the governor on culture and tourism, Technical Adviser to the Enugu Sate Governor on Students ‘ Affairs, Speaker Enugu State youth Parliament, renown philanthropists, girl child advocates, officials from different government parastatals , different NGOs and Students Leaders from different institution.
The conference was a success as key stakeholders converged to discuss extensively on the need to abolish gender disparity in all sectors of Nigerian economy and embrace women maximal representation in leadership .
