Arsenal tonight travel up to Deepdale when they face Preston, looking for a place in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.
The Gunners may have other priorities on the agenda this season as they look to compete towards the upper echelons of the Premier League and the Champions League but a deep run in this competition would hardly be a bad thing.
Indeed, few would doubt Mikel Arteta has been a fantastic job in north London and is on an upward trajectory but the lack of silverware is a slight blot on his copybook.
Arteta won the FA Cup in his first few months in charge of the course but is yet to follow that up and the Carabao Cup could provide an excellent chance to add to his list of honours.
