Inter Milan will be out to press home their Champions League quarter-final first leg advantage when they host Bayern Munich on Wednesday night at the San Siro Stadium.
Goals from Lautaro Martinez and Davide Frattesi – either side of a Thomas Muller strike – means Inter are defending a 2-1 lead at the San Siro as they look to keep their treble hopes alive.
Simone Inzaghi’s side warmed up for the second leg with a 3-1 win over Cagliari at the weekend, extending their unbeaten run in Serie A to seven games. Though the Nerazzuri can expect a much tougher test with a place in the Champions League semi-final at stake.
Bayern know nothing but a victory in Italy will do and can perhaps take confidence from winning their last two away games in Europe by scorelines that would be enough to progress or, at worst, force extra-time.
