JUST IN: IPOB Lead Counsel, Ejimakor Reacts To Reports Of Kanu Escaping From Custody

Aloy Ejimakor, the lead counsel for Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has reacted after report that Kanu escaped from custody.

Ejimakor denied reports on Friday that Kanu had escaped from his holding facility at the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abuja.

He stated, “It’s not true. I will be visiting him today at 2:00 pm. Kanu is a responsible and courageous freedom fighter who is determined to stay and fight the injustice within the system, not outside of it. He is too committed to consider the option of escaping.” Continue Reading…

Efforts to contact DSS spokesman Peter Afunanya were unsuccessful, as he did not answer calls or respond to text messages.

Reports had emerged suggesting that Kanu escaped from DSS custody on Thursday, along with his case file.
