Enugu State Internal Revenue Board, ESIRS, Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC and others have begun joint enforcement of vehicle license renewal by motorists in the state.
Speaking during the flag off of the enforcement in Enugu, the Chairman of the ESiRS, Emmanuel Ekene Nnamani said ‘ some of the motorists in the state do not renew their motor licenses while some do not have number plates.
“What we are doing is to ensure that every motorist, keke owners and motorcyclists have an active motor license and that is the essence of the enforcement. The objective of this is not just for the defaulters to pay a penalty but also to renew their licenses at the point of discovery,” he said. Continue Reading…
He noted that the state government has provided equipments such as laptop and printer at every of the enforcement points to accelerate the process.
“You can renew any number plate anywhere in the state and of any state of your choice. The most important thing is that you have an active motor license.
He also explained that the reason behind the joint enforcement with FRSC was to ensure that there are no road accidents, violence and fighting on the road.
“The joint task force ensures there is organization and non-violent enforcement. The road safety would be there to decongest the road and allow people who have an active license to move freely, while the police and armed forces are there to prevent any form of mayhem,” he noted. Continue Reading…
