BREAKING: Seminarian slumps, dies while acting Easter drama in Imo

Claratian Institute of Philosophy (CUN) Nekede, in Owerri, was thrown into mourning when a seminarian, slumped and died while acting Easter Passion Play.

The Easter Passion Play is a representation of the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Christians across the globe are commemorating this day in appreciation to what Christ did for their redemption.

The seminarian was identified as Suel Ambrose, a 25-year-old first year student of Philosophy.

Meanwhile, some of the students, who spoke to journalists at the school, explained that the deceased who is an indigene of Benue State was playing the role of Saint Peter when he suddenly slumped.

According to one of the students named Mavis, the incident threw the entire school community into a state of confusion.

Mavis noted that the deceased fell on the floor and started bleeding.

He however, said that when the first aid administered to him could not revive him, he was immediately rushed to the Federal Medical Center in Owerri where he unfortunately died.

The incident reportedly led to the suspension of all activities relating to Easter celebration in the school.

The priest in charge of Students formation in the university, Fr Chukwuemeka Iheme, who confirmed the incident said that he could “only speak further when authorised to do so.”
