FG Grant Schools Permission To Conduct Online Exam
The Federal Government has reiterated that until the interstate lockdown is lifted and safety of school children is guaranteed, the government would not reopen the schools in a hurry.
According to our informant this was disclosed by the Minister of State for Education, Hon Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, at a news conference in Abuja.
Nwajiuba said that Private Schools that run International curriculum are free to conduct their third term examinations online on the conclusion of their syllabus.
He said: “Schools that operate or run a foreign program in Nigeria can go ahead with their own third term exams.”
The Minister explained that these were private schools licensed to run foreign curriculum essentially for the children of expatriates and diplomats.
He said the approved curricula are targeted at satisfying the ability of such children to be able to re-join the school system of their home countries at the time of need.
“If such schools are able to host online classes for the curriculum they operate and they choose to use the period to cover their syllabus, it is permitted,” the Minister said.
“We have not said people should stop learning,” he added…..
