President Bola Tinubu has officially declared open the African Counter-Terrorism Summit in Abuja’s Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).

The summit which is currently ongoing and organised by Nigeria, in collaboration with the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism, will be held from Monday to Tuesday, April 23, 2024, with the theme: ‘Strengthening Regional Cooperation and Institution Building to Address the Evolving Threat of Terrorism’. Recall that the spokesman of the president, Chief Ajuri Ngelale in a statement said on Sunday that a high-level conference organized by Nigeria in partnership with the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) will take place from April 22 to 23.

The objective of the summit is to enhance multilateral counter-terrorism cooperation and reshape the international community’s collective response to terrorism in Africa, stressing African-led and African-owned solutions.
