Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje

Kano State Fire Service, on Tuesday, explained that separate fire incidents in the month of April 2023, claimed no fewer than 23 lives and destroyed property worth N29,090,000.

The spokesman for the Kano Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, who made the disclosure in a press statement made available in Kano, also stated that the firefighters saved properties estimated at N73,195,000 in the month under review.

Also, Abdullahi disclosed that 64 people were rescued from different fire disasters.

According to him, the state fire service “received emergency calls from 27 fire stations across the state in the month under review. We received fire calls, rescue calls and false alarms.”

He added that 83 fire calls, 45 rescue calls and nine false alarms were received in the month of April 2023.

“We will seize this opportunity to advise the general public to handle fire with care, so as to avoid inferno, as well as to abide by traffic laws and regulations to avoid road accidents,” he stated.
