JUST IN: Court Finds Nnamdi Kanu Guilty on All Terrorism Charges

The Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday convicted the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, on a seven-count terrorism charge filed against him by the Federal Government. Read More…

Justice James Omotosho, who delivered the judgment, held that Kanu was guilty on all counts, which bordered on engaging in acts of terrorism, belonging to and leading a proscribed organisation, threatening and killing security operatives, destruction and burning of properties, concealment, and the importation of an unregistered radio transmitter.

According to the court, the prosecution “successfully established each allegation beyond reasonable doubt,” leaving no ambiguity regarding the weight of evidence presented.

Justice Omotosho further observed that Kanu failed to provide any substantial defense, noting that he “deliberately refused” to challenge or counter the evidence brought forward by the government. Continue Reading…
