The Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, has named Mr. Chijioke Okonkwo as the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Enugu State Electricity Regulatory Commission, (ESERC).

The names was contained in a letter forwarded to the House, which was read by the Speaker, Chief Uche Ugwu, during an emergency plenary on Monday at the Assembly Legislative Complex in Enugu.
The Speaker then directed the nominees to submit 25 copies of their curriculum vitae to the clerk of the House and appear before the Assembly on Wednesday, 13 March, 2024 for screening and confirmation.
The House passed for the first reading the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) Amendment Bill.
