Rahila Yunusa should be allowed to practice her new religion

Please let the parents and relations and friends including CAN (Christian Association of Nigeria) leadership and everyone who cares and want to help “insist” that Sister Rahila Yunusa should be allowed to practice her new religion either under the custody (care) of her husband ‘if’ she still loves him or her biological parents and not the Shariah Commission.

Please her stay at and under the custody of the Bauchi State Shariah Commission or its arms (agencies), or whatever, must not be allowed for and under whatever reason.

Every effort should not be spared towards reclaiming her “identity” as a “bona fide” biological daughter of her parents and legally married to Mr Yunusa, which surname she “officially” used to report herself to the Shariah Commission for a “supposedly” conversation theory.

The Christian Church must not make the mistake of taking this serious matter lightly by whatever standards.

In the first place what the husband should have done was to have “filed” an official complaint with the nearest police formation near their area of residence that his wife was missing and on some preliminary enquiries around their community.

He discovered that she is with the Bauchi State Shariah Commission and as far as he can remember, they have not had any conflict between them that would require running away from her matrimonial home husband/children/ parents/relations/ friends and well-wishers, “just” because she wants to “convert” to Islam.

What the commission should be made to understand is: Mrs Rahila is “legally” married to Mr Yunusa and the two should be allowed to “sort” out whatever that is the problem.

That even ‘if’ Mrs Rahila decided to convert to Islam she can be allowed to do so under his roof while the husband choose an acceptable (govt approved) ‘standard’ Islamic studies center of learning to learn the basics and rudiments of the Islamic Jurisprudence.

‘If’ Mrs Rahila decided to reject the husband’s proposals he has free will to pursue the forced “abduction/ kidnapping” case he has already filed with the police insisting through the standby contracted lawyers to proceed to a court of ‘competent’ jurisdiction to stop this unfortunate anomaly and illegal interference and criminal act being celebrated by an agency of govt that should be seen to strictly comply with every ‘eyyes and dots’ of a lawful order and personal liberties of citizens under a legal “secular” constitutionally run Nigeria.

If the husband/wife reconciliation fails, the parents/relations/friends and the Church leadership must “trigger” the retrieval buttons using every available avenue and option to take back their cherished daughter (Rahila) and let her come and practice her new religion under her paternal parents’ roof.

Please do not deviate from these indices (steps) and ensure that the CAN leadership and “incorruptible” lawyers are carried along in this “mother” of all paternal, legitimate and spiritual battle of its time. Continue Reading…
